Brought to you by Reach's UK newsrooms Good evening and welcome to your weekly dose of Marvel goodness. Fans have been reeling from the unlikely news that She-Hulk has been nominated for a gong at the annual Visual Effects Society Awards. A controversial move given the CGI was much debated back in the summer.
And Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige has been at it again, calling out people who don't enjoy the comic book genre. On the official Black Panther: Wakanda Forever podcast, Feige called out those who write off the superhero genre. He said: "There were some people, who couldn't get past a four-color, printed, two-dimensional story. You know, they just couldn't do that. Just like today, dare I say it. The people who can't get past a genre story or something that's in space, or people who can breathe underwater. 'No, not for me.'" A Marvel producer, who joined Feige on the podcast, also referenced cutting comments from Martin Scorsese, who previously said superhero movies were more "theme park" than cinema. What do you think? Personally I'm quite bored of Marvel feeling the need to constantly defend itself. Entertainment comes in all shapes and sizes and while I can appreciate the cinema of a Nolan or Tarantino film I also enjoy the unashamed fun of an MCU flick (obviously). Email me with your thoughts and I'll share the best takes with our fellow readers.
