Monthly RE Update – October 2022 Our monthly market intelligence report on renewables covers the following content: - Tenders – In October 2022, 13 new renewable energy (RE) tenders with a cumulative capacity of 1895 MW were issued.
- MSEDCL issued a wind-solar hybrid tender of 500 MW in Maharashtra.
- GUVNL floated a tender of 500 MW solar power projects under Phase XVIII to be set up anywhere in India with green shoe option of additional up to 500 MW.
- In addition, GUVNL issued a tender of 300 MW wind power projects under Phase IV with green shoe option of additional up to 300 MW.
- Installed Capacity: In the month of September 2022, 1972, MW of solar and wind capacity was added, taking the cumulative RE capacity to 118 GW.
- Project Commissioned: Adani commissioned 450 MW capacity under SECI's 1200 MW Wind Solar Hybrid Tranche I tender.
- Key deals/ financing trends: In October 2022, more than $169 million was invested in the RE sector in India.
- IEX – PXIL GTAM Trend: The IEX and PXIL together traded a total of 143 MU in GTAM in October 2022, which is 5.71% lower than the volume traded in September 2022. The average trade price in IEX-GTAM for October 2022 was INR 4.26/kWh, while for PXIL it was INR 4.21/kWh. This is about 26.4% and 15.8% lower than the previous month's prices
- Module price trends: Domestic module prices have shown a downward trend in October 2022 with a m-o-m decrease of around 2%.
- Policy and regulations: In this month, 12 central and 11 state-level policies/ notifications/ regulations/ orders were issued.
