| | | | | New makeover masterplan unveiled for Derby station area | | | | | | | Major plans are being drawn up to regenerate Derby's 'Station Quarter' as council chiefs set out their vision to bring jobs and workers back into the city centre. The area around the front of Derby station could be set for significant change. A new masterplan image shows the vision including the creation of a walkway from the entrance of the station to Midland Road, new entrance and signage to the existing station and new apartments and office space.The council says its focus is now shifting towards the Railway Terrace and Midland Road area of the city after seeing big regeneration change with its new £100 million Castleward estate which is not far off completion. Country homes, town flats and a cinema are among the winners across six different categories, with the first Rising Star award going to a young quantity surveyor. The firm, which is approaching its 90th birthday celebrations, has added a new shop in New Street's Burlington Arcade to its venues in the city's Harborne suburb and Wolverhampton where it launched in the 1930s. To add to its air of exclusivity, this latest branch is one of only 26 Patek Philippe agents across the UK and the only location in Birmingham to sell the brand.The renowned Swiss watchmaker's fingerprint is all over the new shop, with several dedicated displays alongside private viewing areas for Rudell's wealthy client base.
