BY THE NUMBERS

You know who believed that numbers are the highest degree of knowledge? Some guy called Plato.

55,478

The count of homes the BC government ordered this week via housing supply targets issued to 10 municipalities.

936

The total number of new home sales in the GTA in May (the second lowest month since we started keeping track in 1990).

63,000,000

The potential population of Canada in 2073, according to medium-growth projections from Statistics Canada that were released this week.

50/50

The odds that the Bank of Canada will make another interest rate cut on July 24, as per Jason Mercer, Chief Market Analyst at TRREB.

$3,000,000

The amount that Toronto's famous 'Bezier Curve House' has dropped its asking price since May 2022.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK

"We have been able to control our costs through this misery and very hard market and got ourselves down to a very, very thin margin, but there's still profit in the deal for us, thankfully. I think the office market is going to come back in about five years. Nobody is going to build office, obviously. It's a silly thing to do now."

– Dak Molnar, Managing Director of Molnar Group in an interview with STOREYS.
