In a Tuesday notice, the SEC said it would initiate proceedings to evaluate the proposed rule change enabling the listing and trading of the ETF on the Cboe BZX Exchange. Opening the proposal for public comment extends the decision deadline by an additional 35 days, as per Federal Register publication. The SEC has the authority to delay the final decision on the Invesco Galaxy spot Ether ETF for up to 240 days. Invesco submitted the proposal in October 2023, and with the publication in the Federal Register in November, the SEC has until July 2024 to either approve or disapprove the investment vehicle. Tech SpecialAncient Herculaneum scroll deciphered by students using AI Ancient papyrus scrolls from the Herculaneum collection, buried by Mount Vesuvius in 79AD, have been successfully deciphered using AI. The Herculaneum papyri, around 1,800 scrolls carbonized during the volcanic eruption, posed a challenge due to their delicate state. Stored in Naples, over 800 scrolls from an ancient Roman villa had defied previous attempts at reading. However, three students, Youssef Nader, Luke Farritor, and Julian Schilliger, achieved a breakthrough by employing AI-powered coding machines. Their success in reading 15 columns from a scroll earned them a share of the $700,000 grand prize from the Vesuvius Challenge, a competition offering a $1 million prize to solve the problem. Adam Neumann wants to buy WeWork out of bankruptcy Five years after driving WeWork into the ground, co-founder and ousted CEO Adam Neumann is now attempting to purchase the company out of bankruptcy through his new venture, Flow Global. Neumann, supported by funding from Third Point, has been actively exploring this acquisition since December 2023. However, a letter from Neumann's attorney, Alex Spiro, highlights WeWork's uncooperative stance and refusal to share essential information for a potential bid. Neumann's turbulent history, marked by abandoning IPO plans in 2019 and WeWork's subsequent bankruptcy in November, stands in stark contrast to his current optimism. Without specifying acquisition details, Neumann's team expresses readiness to submit a comprehensive proposal, aiming to revitalize WeWork in the evolving landscape of hybrid work. Meta to label all images created by AI on Facebook and Instagram Meta plans to label images generated by OpenAI, Midjourney, and other AI products, as announced by Nick Clegg, Meta's president of global affairs, during an interview on ABC's "Good Morning America." While Meta currently struggles to identify AI-generated audio and video from external tech platforms, a forthcoming feature will allow users to voluntarily tag such content when uploading it. The labels, expected in the next few months, will apply to AI-generated images on Facebook, Instagram, and Threads, including those created by Meta's own tool. Clegg emphasized the challenge of distinguishing between human and synthetic content, acknowledging that the labels won't provide a "perfect solution" due to the scale and complexity of AI-generated material on the platforms.
