	Japan's 'yukata' boom is more than a fashion statement The traditional Japanese yukata, or summer kimono, has established cosplay status thanks to resurging inbound tourism. This has helped reignite Japan's national attachment to the garment, with more yukata-clad Japanese people taking to the streets. But as the embodiment of slow fashion in an age of hyper-consumerism, the yukata is more than simply a passing fad. Yurt alert: Traditional tents make a comeback in Kazakhstan Yurts have been used for over 2,000 years in Kazakhstan, Mongolia and other Central Asian communities. The portable round dwellings boast a distinct allure steeped in simplicity and austerity. The mushroomlike tents are making a return as international tourists seek a unique place to sleep.
