ThePrint Charcha - Gaps in the Implementation of the POSH Act

Dear Reader,

ThePrint invites you to attend its subscriber-exclusive interaction, ThePrint Charcha.

In this edition, the discussion will focus on how it has been 11 years since the Prevention of Sexual Harassment Act (2013) superseded the Vishakha Guidelines (1997) to create a safe and conducive environment for women in India. ThePrint set out to investigate the compliance of the law in various spheres. So far, we have looked at sports, a cultural institute, and Hindi cinema. All spheres have shown different challenges when it comes to implementation on the ground. But one factor was common across the board-- women didn't have faith in the existing redressal systems.

For this panel discussion, we've invited experts to highlight the various unique challenges faced by women and to illuminate us on potential solutions of the current problems.

The event will be hosted by ThePrint’s Senior Correspondent, Shubhangi Misra, who will be in conversation with Sana Hakim (Co-founding Partner Equilibrio Advisory), Somabha Bandopadhay (Teaching Assistant, WBNUJS and Founder, Unmute.help), Vinta Nanda (Writer, Filmmaker, Editor The Daily Eye) and Gopal Sankaranarayanan (Senior Advocate, Supreme Court).
