Major deal struck for old hospital site empty for five years Nottingham's former General Hospital site is being turned into an office space after sitting vacant for around five years. The historic Standard Court building near the city's famous castle was once the home of Nottingham General Hospital until the site closed in 1992. But now a flexible workspace provider will be taking over the building to create new co-working space in the city alongside a gym, spa and beer on tap for those using the facility.
