Dunelm investing in success

Story 1

The boss of out-of-town homewares retailer Dunelm said the business is continuing to invest in its future and remains confident of further growth despite the challenges facing the economy.


Chief executive Nick Wilkinson said sales figures for the start of 2023 were up 6 per cent year-on-year at £423 million, with growth both online and in its shops.

£42m plan to rebuild Edgbaston Stadium

Story 2

Millions of pounds of public money could be used to support a £42 million investment to ensure Edgbaston cricket ground keeps its place in the "elite tier of international cricket venues".


Birmingham City Council is considering lending £32 million to support a big upgrade of the ground and maintain its status as a venue for international matches. 


The cash would be used to help rebuild the oldest two stands – the Raglan and Priory Stands – and add facilities including a 145 room hotel.
