The Greatest American Hero (Exclusive) - Thorpe, a film about the formative years of the eponymous Native American Olympic track and field gold medalist, is speeding up with Tracey Deer directing a script whose latest draft is by William N. Collage (Emancipation ). With the support and participation of the Thorpe family, the drama will focus on Thorpe’s time at Carlisle Industrial Indian School, which isolated Native children from their families and tribal communities. | Comic Relief - Ten days after he was badly burned while working in his garage, a photo of a healthy-looking Jay Leno and several nurses was released. The 72-year-old Leno suffered second-degree and near-third-degree burns while working on one of his vintage cars. The former Tonight Show host underwent two surgeries and hyperbaric oxygen therapy while in the hospital. He is expected to make a full recovery. (Grossman Burn Center) |
