Monthly RE Update – September 2022 Our monthly market intelligence report on renewables covers the following content: - Tenders – In September 2022, 23 new renewable energy (RE) tenders with a cumulative capacity of 3,995 MW were issued.
- SECI issued a tender of 2250 MW of Round-the-Clock (RTC) Power from RE Power Projects, complemented with Power from any other source or storage in India under RTC-III.
- GUVNL issued a tender for purchase of power from 600 MW solar power projects located in 600 MW solar park at khavda with greenshoe option of additional up to 600 MW.
- MSEDCL floated a tender for procurement of power on long term basis from 500 MW solar power projects.
- Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (TPDDL) floated 255 MW Wind Solar Hybrid tender with greenshoe option of additional 255 MW Wind-Solar Hybrid power projects across Pan India.
- Auction Completed: Auctions were concluded for 1250 MW solar projects by MSEDCL and GUVNL in September 2022. While RUMSL completed the auction of its first Wind-Solar hybrid tender of 750 MW in Madhya Pradesh.
- Installed Capacity: India added a cumulative RE capacity of 11077.97 MW in the first eight months of 2022. In the month of August 2022, 1640.25 MW of solar and wind capacity was added.
- Key deals/ financing trends In September 2022, more than $2.34 billion was invested in the RE sector.
- IEX – PXIL GTAM Trend: The IEX and PXIL together traded a total of 151.6 MU in GTAM in September 2022, which is 9.65% lower than the volume traded in August 2022. The average trade price in IEX-GTAM for September 2022 was INR 5.79/kWh, while for PXIL it was INR 5/kWh. This is about 9.5% and 3.4% higher than the previous month's prices.
- Module price trends: Domestic module prices have shown a downward trend in September 2022 with a m-o-m decrease of around 1.55%.
- Policy and regulations: In this month, 10 central and 11 state-level policies/ notifications/ regulations/ orders were issued.

This monthly update covers the following content: - Product Launches: 16 new electric vehicles were launched, including 6 E-scooters, 2 E-bikes, 3 E-cars, and 2 E-cargo and 3 E-passenger three-wheelers. 6 new E-scooters and 1 new E-bike are slated to be launched in October 2022 while the Lambretta E-scooter will be launched in the year 2024.
- EV Sales Trends: The overall EV sales in September 2022 increased to 93,605 units, registering a m-o-m rise of 6.2%, but a y-o-y leap of ~173%.
- Policies and Regulations: Several Central and State-level policy developments took place this month. At the state-level, Chandigarh and Chhattisgarh have rolled out their electric vehicle policies while UP and Punjab have released a draft of the electric vehicle policy. At the central level, Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL) floated a tender for E-bus procurement by various states while the Centre announced some enhanced sops under the PLI scheme for Semiconductors and Display Manufacturing in India.
- Charging Infrastructure and Battery Swapping: Fresh updates on new charging infrastructure/battery swapping including plans to install more than 7,600 charge points in the next three years,
- Key Manufacturing Updates: Other than Ather Energy's commissioning of facility for E2W manufacturing, rest other facilities under various stages of development will cater to EV component manufacturing.
- Other Market Updates: Announcements range from Indian OEMs venturing outside India to opening of new dealership centres to EV financing offerings.
