Welcome to your Thursday nostalgia newsletter! Here are three stories that were published in our section recently.

See some of our favourite old cinemas - and what became of them

Once upon a time, you'd have a local cinema. No jumping in the car to travel to the city centre or a shopping park - with any luck, there was one already in your postcode.

That era passed long ago though, and the multiplex is at the top of the roost now. But what happened to all the old favourites?

Take a look at some of our archive photos of the many cinemas that used to dot Birmingham.

There's a dizzying amount of stuff going on in the present. Why not join us for a walk down memory lane, into a simpler past?

Star Wars fever and a Luke Skywalker visit, old Brutalist Brum landmarks and a chilly walk in the park, and raids on the Blue Bird toffee factory - there's a lot to get through.

Tragic haunted house that briefly became the hottest property in Ladywood

Would you live in a haunted house? Brummies were certainly up for the challenge, as the tragic case of Coxwell Road in Ladywood shows.

In June 1955, the Pells moved in to Number 32, your average council house, having just added a newborn baby to their family. They started hearing things, reporting their experience to the Daily Gazette - Mr. Pell reported "thuddings on the kitchen ceiling late at night, like a 12 pound hammer".

Their house no longer exists - see how it all turned out here.
