Bond returns to the the big screen

Bond is back in cinemas

Bond fans will surely be rejoicing at the news they can once again see their favourite super spy on the big screen.

All 25 official Bond movies are set to return to UK cinemas this year in 4K from April until October 2022 as part of the 60th anniversary of the James Bond film franchise celebrations.

The films will be shown chronologically throughout the year in Vue and Odeon cinemas starting with Dr No in mid-April before concluding with No Time To Die in September, ahead of Global James Bond Day on October 5.

"In 1962, Sean Connery introduced Ian Fleming's character to cinema audiences. 'Bond, James Bond' is now one of the most iconic moments in film history," the official press release states.

Regé-Jean Page's Bridgerton co-star enters race to be next 007

Jonathan Bailey star of Bridgerton season 2

The latest twist in the battle for Bond is that another Bridgerton star has entered the race.

As fans and media outlets continue speculating over who could replace Daniel Craig as 007 the competition keeps hotting up.

Since starring in Netflix's huge hit Bridgerton, Regé-Jean Page has shot to fame and is a front runner in the race to be the next Bond. He overtook bookies' previous favourite Tom Hardy.

However, one of Page's co-stars from the hit period drama has now entered the running - Jonathan Bailey, who has caught the attention of the bookies.

The 33-year-old star of Bridgerton has been given odds of 66-1 by William Hill after the second series racked up an incredible 251.7 million viewing hours in its first week on Netflix.

Bailey faces stiff competition from other frontrunners including co-star Regé-Jean Page, Witcher star Henry Cavil and Venom star Tom Hardy.

James Bond doesn't exactly seem the sort to indulge in chocolate eggs at Easter but that doesn't mean other options aren't available.

Chocolatier to the Queen, Charbonnel et Walker has released a tin of 007-branded martini truffles. This is definitely an adults-only treat. The £16 truffles are filled with vodka and gin as well as the ingredient central to all good martinis - a twist of lemon. They're available to order here.

Ursula Andress: The best Bond girl of all time?

Ursula Andress as Honey Rider

Ursula Andress was dubbed the 'ultimate' Bond Girl in 1962 after providing a memorable scene in Dr. No when she saunters out of the sea and meets Bond for the first time.

It's arguably one of the most recognised James Bond scenes of all time and is a firm fan favourite. In 2003, her entrance in Dr. No was voted number one in the 100 Greatest Sexy Moments in a UK survey by Channel 4.

This evocative scene is also credited with propelling Ursula Andress, then 26, into international stardom. The Swiss-American actress played shell-diver and love interest of Bond, Honey Ryder, in the 1962 film and was based on the character Honey chile Rider from the 1958 Ian Fleming novel Dr. No.

Andress was the original, and some say the best Bond girl and is beloved by 007 fans the world over. She was voted 'Best Bond Girl' many times in various polls over the years and always seems to top the list of favourite Bond Girls from the franchise.

The 88-year-old Golden Globe-winning actress has taken a step back from the spotlight in recent years after going public with her battle against osteoporosis, which she was diagnosed with in 2000.

Today she is living a quieter life outside of the hustle and bustle of Hollywood but is still remembered for her incredible performance in Dr. No.
