Lata Mangeshkar started her career at the age of 12
Mangeshkar, one of the great playback singers of Indian cinema, started her career in the year 1942 at the age of 13 and sang more than 25,000 songs in various Indian languages. During his career spanning over seven decades of singing, he has sung many memorable songs including 'Ajeeb Dastaan Hai Yeh', 'Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya' and 'Neela Asman So Gaya'. Lata ji was honored with Bharat Ratna, Padma Bhushan, Padma Vibhushan and Dadasaheb Phalke Award in foreign countries as well.
