He told that I was recording a song for 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge'. He told, "I had sung only two lines of 'Na Jaane Mere Dil Ko Kya Ho Gaya' when Lata ji came. I saw Lata ji from the glass door of the studio and my senses were blown away. I told him Didi if you remain, I will not be able to sing. She had said, "I have come here intentionally. So that I can listen to your song and I will sit here and you will have to sing. I said it is not possible.
Lata Mangeshkar told a joke during lunch
He further said, "After this Yashji came there and said that it was lunch time and he had ordered food. We ate food and during this time Lata ji told so many jokes that I got tired of laughing. Then I also said you stay here. Let me sing then you sing. She sat there and listened to my song.
The 92-year-old singer had recorded songs for over 1000 Hindi films in multiple languages. Lata Mangeshkar was born on 28 November 1929. He has made a significant contribution to Hindi cinema. Lata Mangeshkar was honored with many national film awards including Padma Bhushan, Padma Vibhushan, Dadasaheb Phalke Award for her contribution to Indian cinema. His name is also included in the Guinness World Book Records. Even though Lata Mangeshkar is no more with us today. But his melodious voice will always resonate in Hindi cinema. Lata was not only a musician, she was also a great actress.
