The Kerala government has announced more relaxation in the covid restrictions. In the latest order, the state government has granted full occupancy for cinema halls, among other public spaces including bars, clubs, hotels, restaurants, and other eateries. The decision has been made owing to the decrease in fresh covid cases in the state.

Kerala Minister for Culture Saji Cherian announced the same through his official social media handle as well. "100% occupancy will be allowed in theaters in the state. The restrictions have eased owing to the decrease of Covid spread. An order was issued today in this regard," the minister's note read.

Cinema halls will start to function in full occupancy in Kerala, and also by following the covid protocols.

Interestingly, this is also the first time cinema halls in Kerala are about to function at full capacity, ever since the covid outbreak in 2020. FEFKA Directors' Union has welcomed the government's latest order. In the order, the maximum number of people that can attend public functions has been increased to 1500.

Meanwhile, the latest relaxation has come as a huge relief to theatre owners and distributors, and the makers of upcoming Malayalam films. This relaxation will also favour Mammootty's ambitious upcoming film 'Bheeshma Parvam'.

Directed by Amal Neerad, the film will hit the big screens on March 3, and the bookings for the film have opened. Mammootty's last outing was the 2021 March release 'One', and as it has been about an year since he had a release, movie buffs and fans are thrilled to catch the film on the big screens.
